Product Detail:
  • Static electric discharge occurs when there is an imbalance of electrons on a surface of a material. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) is a transfer of charge between bodies at different electrical potentials .
  • Virtually all materials, even conductors, can be triboelectrically charged. The level of charge is affected by material type, speed of contact and separation, humidity, and several other factors.
  • Electrostatic fields are associated with charged objects.
  • ESD can damage devices so they fail immediately or electric overstress (EOS) may result in latent damage that may escape immediate attention, but cause the device to fail prematurely once in service.
  • ESD can occur throughout the manufacturing, test, shipping, handling or operational processes.
  • ESD can degrade and/or destroy electronic components and assemblies!

It also includes information on:

  • Evaluating Your Facility
  • What Training Should be Given?
  • Who Needs ESD Training?
  • ESD Training
  • An Effective ESD Program
  • Tracking Failures
  • The Cost of ESD Damage
  • ESD in Electronic Systems
  • ESD Damage in Electronics Manufacturing

Who will benefit:

  • Personnel and Moving Equipment department
  • Wrist Straps department
  • Workstations and Work surfaces department
  • Production Equipment and Production Aids
  • Packaging and Materials Handling department
